Summer Packing Guide: Pacific Northwest
I just spent a week in the Pacific Northwest: Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, British Columbia, to be exact. While the sun wasn't always shining, the weather—mid-70s, relatively low humidity—turned out to be the perfect antidote to New York's unbearable heat. A bit of advice: If you're heading out West, too, be sure to pack for the mountains, the beach AND the city. There's a lot going on. Click through to see what I wore. (Oh, and check out Lucky writer Jenna Gottlieb's excellent Portland travel guide.)
This dress has little sailboats all over it. And the hourglass shape is incredibly flattering.
Super-sturdy, super-cute sandals. They're so cheap, you can buy them in several colors.
Yes, it is going to rain a little. And it is going to be chilly at night. So bring your Barbour.
Cute enough for vintage shopping around Portland, practical enough to take hiking on Vancouver Island.
Less of a pain-in-the-butt to pack than traditional wellies. They look better, too.
Yes, everyone still wears flannel out there.
I'm obsessed with ankle-skimming, loose-fitting jeans.
Again, it's about comfort.
Gold studs go with everything.
Skip the foundation and mascara—all you need is a little lip tint to brighten up your natural complexion.
