Which Shoe Is Best: Diane von Furstenberg vs. B by Brian Atwood
While I'm not quite as obsessed with either of these punchy summer sandals as I am with Nicholas Kirkwood's red and navy striped ones, I do really, really like them for their ability to instantly make an outfit, no heavy thinking required.
Especially on those Bikram-yoga-hot summer nights: humidity may crimp your hair and your skin may shine despite layers of mattifying products, but strap these on and your feet will command all the attention. With their cocktail party-ready shapes and splashy, Art Basel Miami colors, both the B by Brian Atwood stiletto (on the right) and the Diane von Furstenberg one (on the left) will make any warm weather dress a little more "pass me a mojito."
For all their similiarities, though—a kicky red and purple palette, flirty straps, high-voltage height— they're priced pretty differently. Though you'd miss out on the $400 Atwood's python texture, you could, theoretically, buy the $300 DvF ones—and all the pieces in the slideshow below—for less than that. You'd even have enough cash left over for a perfectly clashing primary color manicure in canary yellow or emerald green. Which would you choose?
B by Brian Atwood's "Caprisa" sandal: $400
Diane von Furstenberg's "Jodi" sandal, plus all of this: $391.02
