Jil Sander's Comeback Show Gets Rave Reviews; Shop Pieces From Her Heydey on eBay Now

Jil Sander, in case you haven't heard, has returned to her namesake fashion house after an eight-year absence. The German designer founded her label in 1968, jumped ship in 2000, and then returned for a brief yearlong stint in 2003 before exiting once again. And now that Raf Simons, Jil Sander's beloved former creative director and successor, is firmly in place at Dior (yay!), we can finally focus on what Sander herself will bring to the brand she once built.

Earlier this week, Sander's comeback collection—the house's Spring 2013 menswear offerings—walked in Milan, and the reviews have been almost unanimously positive. In true Jil Sander fashion, the clothes were pure, tailored and simple, with a palette that ranged from bright cobalt and sunny mustard to deep reds and greys. Silhouettes were long and lean yet still boxy, and the patterned pieces were highlights—especially the cardigans spliced with graphic Mondrian-style lines and the polka-dotted coats and jackets. Above, check out a few of our favorites from the lineup.

With Sander's first successful show behind her, now seems a perfect time to revisit some of the designer's original pieces for her brand—womenswear ones, that is. And fortunately, there are more than a few great options currently up for grabs on eBay. Click through to shop some vintage Jil Sander pieces we'd love to own ourselves—and to see how her trademark aesthetic is still reflected in her current-day designs. And for a refresher course on all things Jil, check out the last two collections she created for her label the last time she was reinstated right here.
