Alexander McQueen's Fall 2012 Campaign Is Alien-Like and Awesome

Alexander McQueen's fall collection has a lot going on—voluminous ruffles, downy feathers, metallic visors—so for its new campaign, the label wisely chose an uncomplicated backdrop.

Shot by David Sims, the brand's autumn advertisements feature Suvi Koponen in richly layered outfits standing on ice-like white cubes casting opalescent shadows. Some of the images are even simpler. Taken in black and white, they highlight the model against a plain, unadorned wall. Both sets of pictures have a delicious, otherworldly air about them—Koponen looks like an impeccably dressed alien from another planet or, you know…Lady Gaga.
