Best-Selling Celebrity Fragrances

When it comes to celebrity perfumes, I may know what people are talking about—Lady Gaga's naked ad campaign for her scent Fame, perhaps—but until I started writing this story, I had no idea what they were actually buying.

I imagined teenybopper fragrances like Katy Perry's Purr and Justin Bieber's Girlfriend at the top of the sales list, floating on a pillow of $5 bills earned through chores. But according to our data-savvy friends at Euromonitor, those crazy-famous celebrities aren't really the ones selling the most bottles.

Instead, the correlation between stars who sell bedroom posters and those who sell perfume is small, with some of the most successful scents coming from slightly obscure celebrities. Of course, we'll leave you to figure out who we mean by that—just click through below for the list of the top 10 celebrity fragrances in 2011, according to their US retail sales in millions:

#10: Britney Spears

Fragrance: Curious

2011 Sales: $6.8 million
