Confirmed: Lana Del Rey Models For H&M

Rumors that Lana Del Rey will front H&M's fall advertisements have been perpetrating for nearly a month without comment from the brand. Finally, the Swedish chain confirmed the story this morning by releasing two images starring the singer.
The photos were shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin (two of Lady Gaga's favorite collaborators and also the guys behind Juicy Couture's Spring 2012 spreads) and reflect the star's signature retro style. In each shot, she's dressed in a soft baby pink sweater and chandelier earrings with her hair teased into a bouffant. "The mood is very LA noir," Donald Schneider, H&M’s creative director, told WWD. "It’s inspired by our fall collection."
To accompany the pictures, the performer recorded a cover of "Blue Velvet," for a promotional film set to debut September 19 on Hm.com. Del Rey has also agreed to model in a second campaign for the company this winter. We're hoping another musical tie-in will be involved—nothing sells an outfit like a really catchy song.
What do you think of Lana's modeling foray? Does she make you want to dress in head-to-toe pastel? Or maybe try a cat-eye?
