Jillian Rose Reed: Seven Days, Seven Outfits

MTV's hit sitcom Awkward lives in a place where the worlds of My So-Called Life, The League and Can't Hardy Wait supernaturally intersect. Doesn't that sound weird? Because it is weird. But good weird.

Which is why I was pretty darn excited to chat with 20-year-old Jillian Rose Reed, who plays Tamara, the funny foil to straight-woman-protagonist Jenna Hamilton (Ashley Rickards). When it comes to personal style, Tamara's is often outrageous, occasionally upstaging Jillian's in-real-life, California-cool-girl look. "Tamara loves to dress in florals, striped socks, she loves to accessories, where lots of bracelets at once!" says Reed. "We both like to mix it up...but I live in my combat boots." On the red carpet, she tends to stick with strapless minis, a favorite of stylist Audrey Brianne. "Thanks to Audrey, all I need to worry about out there is tripping in my platforms!" she says.

"I'm a huge fan of the casual jeans and t-shirt look, but to make it more funky...colored skinny jeans are the way to go! My Love Label pink skiny jeans are my favorite; they fit perfectly and who doesn't love pink!"

"This would be my go to date outfit. I'm not one to wear heels all the time, so I like to pair my skirts with a cute pair of combat boots. Plus, I love the checkered pattern that on the inside! To pull the outfit together, I put on my favorite skull bracelets from Brandy Melville!"

"I own a LOT of jean shorts, but my favorites are ones that are patterned or colored. They're so fun! I'm also obsessed with my Chinese Laundry boots!"

"I LIVE in these Doc Martens. My costume designer on set gave them to me, and they're my favorite boots! Wearing them with a cute dress and my Gilda Grey accessories is my favorite."

"I love cheetah anything. This cardigan by Coleen is the perfect piece to throw on in the evening when LA nights can get chilly. It dresses up my high waisted One Teaspoon shorts, but still doesn't look like I'm trying too hard!"

"When it's done right, mixing patterns can be fun. I threw on my favorite flannel shirt with a funky skirt for this super fun outfit. One of my favorite gifts that tops off every outfit is my red Chanel purse which brings everything together perfectly!"

"I love the big sweater and shorts look. It's perfect for spring time in LA and it’s so comfortable! This is my favorite sweater, from American Apparel, its comfy...and the colors go with everything! I threw on my owl necklace by Jenny Dayco...I love anything owl and this necklace is so cute!"
