Jonathan Adler Is Designing Fashion Accessories
Interior designer Jonathan Adler is debuting a new line of wallets, change purses, belts, scarves, hats and handbags next month. And while this isn't the designer's first foray into fashion—he did a collection with Seven for All Mankind a while back—it's certainly his largest. The selection includes an expansive array of over 300 styles. All the pieces will run between $48 to $450 and reflect his company's "happy chic" motto.
"It’s about color and chic and taking a lot of my signature patterns, style, craft and joy," he told WWD in an interview, before hinting that an apparel line might be in his future. "I started as a potter, but so much of what I do is textile-based."
Although this particular collection won't land in stores and online until the spring of 2013, the home goods guru has other exciting projects coming up sooner. As one of the seven participants in eBay's Holiday Collective, he created a range of affordable decor gifts for the e-commerce site, which go on sale November 12. What's more, he's slated to open some shop-in-shops at various J.C. Penney locations as part of the store's push to partner with outside brands. (Like Joe Fresh!) And, of course, if you're just craving a punchy print in bright colors, check the label's main website, Jonathanadler.com—its full of 'em.
Here's a sneak peek of Adler's new accessories range. What do you think? Are you hoping he adds clothes soon, too?
