Karl Lagerfeld x Shu Uemura: Preview the Products Now

As we predicted last June, Karl Lagerfeld's new makeup line for Shu Uemura features artwork made from actual eyeshadow and kohl. It was announced today that packaging for the 17-piece collection incorporates a special character hand-drawn by the Kaiser, who has used the Japanese brand's makeup to create illustrations for years. Dubbed "Mon Shu" (for the playful French nickname "mon chou") by the designer, the black-bobbed sketch was inspired by Japanese manga and represents Karl's vision for the range which, as he told WWD, is "Eastern, perfect, mysterious, modern beauty."
The full collection—a diverse selection which includes printed false lashes and glitter eyeliner—will first hit U.S. stores and online this coming October. Prices will fall between $27 and $105, and the most expensive item is a 450-ml. bottle of makeup remover for 86 euros, or $105.45. Which, if you need extra convincing, is really quite reasonable for a quality beauty buy. But we understand if Mon Shu's adorable face already sold you.
Are you planning to add any Karl Lagerfeld x Shu Uemura products to your vanity table this fall?
