Lady Gaga Is Basically Naked in Her Fame Campaign
Despite sensationalist rumors that Lady Gaga's perfume, Fame, would have notes of "blood and semen," the fragrance's advertisements are far more controversial than the product itself. Just released last night on the pop singer's website, the promotional picture features her naked except for a black mask. Teeny tiny men in underwear crawl across the stars sculpted form and strategically cover certain parts of her body.
The effect is shocking but striking, and very different from most advertisements for celebrity scents. We give her props for innovation but—if she went this far in the print images—what will the potential commercial be like? Maybe she doesn't need one: This shot certainly makes us want to test Fame when it hits department stores in August. Fully clothed, of course.
What do you think of the photographs? Exciting and interesting or just too much?
