Lucky Stars: Hailee Steinfeld in Marc Jacobs

I'd imagine that The Dark Knight Rises is just as slick and caffeinated as all the other Batman films. But until I see the movie, my favorite thing from last night's premiere was something totally nostalgic and measured: Hailee Steinfeld's outfit.

In a printed tea-length sheath, wooden platform sandals and a sleek tube clutch, Hailee did what all those radio stations promise to do, blending the best elements of the '70s, '90s and today. And perhaps surprisingly, she did that wearing not only one designer head-to-toe, but also one collection: Marc Jacobs's latest resort effort, which he just showed last month.

I knew the collection was among my favorites then, but after seeing it on Hailee, I'm even more sold on that cocktail of prim shapes, electric prints and kooky accessories. Which, I think, all ends up looking like a '70s Homecoming Queen had a '90s Chloe Sevigny and today's Olsens get her ready for the high school social—or, in a word, awesome.

Of course, Hailee's outfit's not available yet, and even when it is, that mod dress will be $3,900, the glossy clutch $1,095 and the chunky platforms $995. So until they land in stores (or your bank account magically grows to match Bruce Wayne's), we'd suggest buying the similar, currently available items below.
