Monique Lhuillier Is Designing Shoes

Next spring, Monique Lhuillier will be adding a shoe line to her namesake brand, which already includes home goods, wedding dresses, ready-to-wear and fragrance. To start, the label will debut 15 styles in its own stores. This will be followed by a full range—complete with day, evening and bridal options—for fall 2013.
The company's eponymous designer has some previous experience creating footwear, mainly for her runway shows, but those pieces have never gone into production. The practice, however, served a greater purpose—Lhuillier says she's been planning this launch for a very long time. “I’ve always wanted to dress women from head to toe,” she recently told WWD.
Made in Italy and priced between $595 and $1,195, the new collection will feature luxe materials like snakeskin and lace. Lhuiller says that her aim was to make the footwear "sexy, feminine and glamorous." Only this one product image has been released so far. But, judging from it alone, we think she accomplished just that.
What do you think of the stiletto? Success? Or should Monique stick to big white gowns?
