It's okay to admit it. You love "Call Me Maybe." In fact, you've probably watched the video more than once (including the one with Justin and Selena) and you most likely know every lyric in the song. The moment the first few notes play through your headphones or over your radio, a small smile appears on your face and you can't help singing along, even breaking out a few dance moves. We've done it and we're not ashamed to admit it. In fact, before she came into our lives, we missed her so bad.
But now, with the success of her infectious pop hit “Call Me Maybe,” Carly Rae Jepsen is poised for a career that will ensure she becomes more than a one-hit-wonder. Scheduled to tour with Justin Bieber and release her debut U.S. album Curiosity in the fall, the 25-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter’s personal style is as “carefree and sexy” as her music.

Who are some of your style icons?
“Kate Bosworth would be at the top of my list. And Zooey Deschanel’s girliness is adorable. But, I also like the Olsens. They inspired me to wear long skirts and lots of layers even though I’m petite. Sarah Jessica Parker’s off-screen style is pretty rad, too. Ultimately, my dream would be to one day be the SJP of music and be able to play with fashion and have a closet as big as hers.”
What are your summer wardrobe must-haves?
“Pastel pants feel so summery to me. And I love mullet skirts. I got one from a photo shoot. It brings back the hippie style I love but is still sexy.”
Where do you shop?
“True Values Vintage in Vancouver—I love how they remade vintage things into stylish items. But day-to-day, I really like French Connection for little cocktail dresses and I love Topshop. It’s very busy and very intimidating—you have to go in like a fighter but it’s worth it.”
What piece instantly puts you in a good mood?
“It’s hard to be in a bad mood when you’re wearing something in a loud, bright yellow. I also love a floral printed blouse. In general, I like flowier items but I like to be edgy when I go out at night and sex it up.”
