Pippa Middleton: The Secret to Her Style

During my daily blog roll dig for juicy celebrity gossip and good street style shots, Pippa Middleton usually makes an appearance. By now, I've seen enough images of Kate's sister that I can confidently say I know the secret to her style: sticking to a formula. And in her case, that formula is a basic dress or jeans mixed with interchangeable accessories.

This rather blad fashion outlook has a polarizing effect on people. Some feel that, as a pretty girl with plenty of money, Pippa should start taking more sartorial risks. I've seen a little of that, like when she wore a printed peplum look a few weeks ago. But really, that particular outfit was not too far from her usual uniform of a simple sheath; if you cut off the frill it would look like everything else she wears.

Pippa aficionados, however, would argue that the it-Brit always looks good. So why should she change a thing? Clearly, whatever she's doing is working: every outfit she wears is photographed. Even the boring ones.

Regardless of one's feelings on the younger Middleton, there's no denying she's a shining example of smart shopping. Each piece in the party planner's wardrobe is a classic. Consider this picture of her leaving a London Starbucks last week. Even if you aren't the type of person who would wear classic aviators with a classic cardigan with a classic floral dress and, yes, a classic looking bag…all those items are good to have in your closet. I've found similar pieces available online now that I think are worth buying. But, how to wear them? That's up to you.
