Ralph Lauren Reveals the 2012 US Olympic Uniforms
There was a time when Olympians just ran around naked. I imagine that, with sports like javelin, shot put and the high jump, being naked could cause titanic amounts of pain. Luckily for our London-bound athletes, there's a more strict dress code these days. And we have king of American Style, Ralph Lauren, to outfit them. So when the Americans march in the Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony on July 27, we know they'll be well-suited. This morning, soccer player Heather Mitts and fencing master Tim Morehouse modeled the looks on the Today show. As you can see, they're thoroughly American with accents of red, white and blue. And, of course, the quintessential navy blazer.
Not feeling patriotic about the Olympics just yet? I can't understand why that could ever be, but to jump-start your spirit, join the brand on Facebook or their mobile site RalphLaurenRally.com to send your favorite athlete a cheer. When they arrive in the Olympic village later this month, all the cheers will be available for them to see, and perhaps serve as that extra push to get them across the finish line. First. Go USA.
The collection is available for purchase on RalphLauren.com, but we've selected a few of our favorites below. Double go USA.
A well-appointed blazer, complete with Olympic emblem and polo horse.
