Summer Packing Guide: Road Trip
If I had the extra time and resources, I would spend my summer on long meandering road trip. The entire endeavor is totally impractical yet incredibly enticing—hitting the open highway with no actual itinerary is bound to go wrong in the most interesting ways.
Although the beauty of Kerouac-style travel comes by not planning, I'd still do a little prep-work in the packing department. Click through the slideshow below to see what I'm going to (eventually!) bring on my cross-continental adventure:
Laundry will be limited, so no white T-shirts.
For nights slept in the car.
Sneakers are must, so I'm picking cute ones.
Cozier than driving in skinny jeans.
An summerweight jacket for chilly nights and light showers.
When I hit the Southwest states, I'll lop off the legs.
Sunsets are for seeing, not squinting.
Most things can stay in the trunk, but this is for motel stops.
Accessories I wear every single day won't get lost or stolen.
It's better to bring too many.
