Target and Neiman Marcus Are Teaming Up on a Multi-Designer Holiday Collection
We were seriously bummed when Target chose to discontinue its Go International collaboration program, but it seems the retailer's found a way to make amends—in a big, big way. This Christmas, Target is teaming with luxury department store Neiman Marcus on what just might be the biggest multi-designer collaboration to date: a limited-edition holiday collection designed by 24 CFDA notables.
Priced from $7.99 to $499.99, the Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection will be stocked at every Target location (1,763 total) and all of Neiman Marcus' 42 stores, as well as at Target.com and Neimanmarcus.com, beginning December 1. Items on offer will range from menswear, womenswear and children's apparel to home decor, pet accessories and even sporting goods.
So exactly which CFDA designers did the two retailers tap for the unprecedented initiative? Carolina Herrera, Derek Lam, Diane von Furstenberg, Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Tory Burch, Alice + Olivia, Altuzarra, Band of Outsiders, Brian Atwood, Eddie Borgo, Judith Leiber, Lela Rose, Marchesa, Philip Crangi, Prabal Gurung, Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, Robert Rodriguez, Rodarte, Skaist-Taylor, Thom Browne and Tracy Reese. To kick off the initiative and show their commitment to the fashion industry, Target and Neiman Marcus are donating $1 million to the CFDA. "I can think of no better finale to CFDA's 50th anniversary celebration than through this extraordinary designer collaboration," the organization's president, Diane von Furstenberg, told WWD. "We are happy to have created specially designed products as a thank you to share with our consumers and friends." It goes without saying that we'll be more than happy to buy them.
