True Blood's Kristin Bauer van Straten on the Comfiest Corset She's Ever Worn

Yesterday, we attended the launch of HSN and HBO's forthcoming Forsaken capsule, a collection of beauty goodies inspired by the smash-hit series True Blood. After getting our nails slicked with "Let It Bleed," one of the several (scented!) Deborah Lippman-designed nail polishes that are part of the line, we grabbed a True Blood-themed pomegranate cocktail and caught up with our hostess Kristin Bauer van Straten, who plays clever vampire Pam De Beaufort on the show. Turns out that in her day-to-day life, however, Kristin would rather wear anything but one of Pam's sexy bustiers.
Lucky: On True Blood, Pam wears some pretty outrageous outfits. How does your real-life style stack up to hers?
Kristin Bauer van Straten: I imagine when you're an immortal person who doesnt have to worry about money or aging or dying—you know, 90 percent of what I worry about every day—you have a lot more time to do your hair, do your makeup. Also, Pam can't feel pain, so the clothes I wear on the show all hurt. The more they hurt, the better I know I look! But when I'm not filming, I love comfort, and I live in Lululemon, J.Crew and sneakers. My hair's always in a ponytail, and I wear no makeup. Pam would be horrified.
Do you have a particular favorite costume you've gotten to wear on the set?
There was one corset I've repeated because I like it so much. It makes me look tiny and it's actually not uncomfortable—it's perfectly engineered. I've been wearing it for four years now. It's the only corset I've ever worn that doesn't hurt.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record...are you Team Eric or Team Bill?
I mean, I have to be Team Daddy! Daddy Skarsgard for sure. I can't help it—I've been standing next to him for years. I love the relationship that Pam and Eric have—there's so much love there. They have each others' backs. And it's so much fun to pretend to hate Bill—I mean, I pretend, but Pam really does hate him!
Lastly, what three beauty essentials do you swear by?
Emani Minerals powder foundation, Burt's Bees natural cherry chapstick and NARS pink blush.
In addition to the aforementioned Deborah Lippmann lacquers, the Forsaken capsule includes a fruity fragrance of the same name—decorated with tiny jeweled "blood droplets"—plus candles and diffusers from D.L. & Co. Check out the collection when it hits HSN.com on August 9!
