Under $50: Put a Bicycle on It

I know you're all revved up about the 2012 Summer Olympics, which kick off this Friday in London

But right now, all I can think about is the Tour de France.

My husband's a Tour obsessive—he loves watching the cyclists circle the French countryside. And every year, I try to (virtually) tag along for the three-week competition. Usually, I end up watching about a quarter-of-a-day's worth of bicycling. But this time, I really got into it. There was so much drama! One day, someone—they still don't know who!—threw nails on to the road, ruining a few major competitor's chances of winning. And another guy claimed, after testing positive for doping, that he was poisoned! So theatrical.

Sure, the salacious stuff drew me in, but then I actually began to enjoy the competition. I also became a fan of the polka dot jersey worn by the King of the Mountain, (the best climber in the competition). Very Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton.

In honor of the Tour, I rounded up some bicycle-inspired trinkets, all under $50. (So you can save the rest for a ticket to France!)

"Fiets" is Dutch for bicycle. This is a cute wallet. That is all.

These are just the happiest little note cards.

Little charms always get me.

Musettes are little bags to store your food. The cyclists use even smaller, lighter ones during the Tour.
