What To Wear During a Scandal: Tips For Kristen Stewart

Last night, US Weekly magazine alleged that Kristen Stewart cheated on her Twilight co-star and long term boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, with Rupert Sanders, the 41 year old director of the actress' latest release, Snow White and the Huntsman. After the initial news broke, major media outlets ran amok with the rumor, publishing both speculative pieces and quotes from "sources close to the couple."

The claims are not implausible—the two undoubtedly worked very closely while filming the movie—and, the story is accompanied by some very incriminating photos. And today, Kristin Stewart released this statement to People: "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry." Wow. It'll be interesting to see how she'll publicly handles these next few difficult weeks.

In order to gracefully navigate her way through this scandal, I think Kristen shouldn't shy from the press, but rather present herself in the most flattering way possible. When speaking to the press or making any sort of public appearance, Kristen should go the model-in-divorce-court route and look stylish, sophisticated and slightly demure. This outfit will keep her covered without sacrificing fashion cred.

Of course, there will be time that K-Stew just wants to run out and get a coffee. (Because if you read the other pages of Us Weekly you know that's what celebrities do when they aren't walking the red carpet.) A slouchy top, skinny jeans and understated jewelry are stylish without drawing attention. Add the baseball cap and oversize sunglasses and she'll be practically invisible.

Most celebrities deal with both personal and professional difficulties by hitting the gym—hard. The benefits are twofold: Not only will she look better than ever but the paparazzi will grow tired of all those post-workout photo ops.
