Summer's Most Popular Styles

Every month, virtual outfit-making platform Polyvore analyzes all the searches that lead people to their site from Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc., and corrals the top terms into one concise, fifty-phrase list.

Since it's not just Polyvore users but Googlers in general that are searching for those things—retro swimwear, lace shorts, oxford flats, whatever—the ranking's a good barometer for what's popular and interesting in the fashion world.

But it's also sometimes surprising. Click through below to see a few of the items ranked in June's top fifty search terms; each outfit only has one item in the top fifty, so see if you can guess which one it is. (If I weren't staring a printed out PDF of the data right now, I probably couldn't. They're all cute to me.)

Fascinator hats, patterned shifts, doorknocker earrings: click through to see which of these three was most searched last month.
