Cream of the Crop: The Coolest Wedding Fair Is Coming to NYC

If the idea of a wedding fair brings to mind badly decorated booths filled with stuffy carnation arrangements and ugly taffeta dresses, then you clearly haven't attended The Cream. The brainchild of party planners Paige Appel and Kelly Harris (to enlist their services, visit Bashplease.com), this particular event was created for stylish brides-to-be who don't want to use the same florist and DJ as everyone else in town. So far, it has only highlighted talent in Los Angeles and Palm Springs. But this month, it's landing in NYC!

On August 14, the five boroughs' most-awesome-est vendors will be gathered in Center 548 at Chelsea Piers to provide all kind of "i do" inspiration. To build anticipation for the upcoming shindig, Appel and Harris haven't revealed the full roster of attendees just yet. Instead, the duo are slowing rolling out names on their website, Thecreamevent.com, each Wednesday and Friday—so far 48 companies have been confirmed. A tech startup, still in BETA mode, that helps you create an app centered around your wedding. The program will allow you easily share information, photos and stories with your guests.
