A 10 FT David Beckham Statue Is Coming to an H&M Near You
It's pretty hard to top the first campaign H&M last released for its David Beckham bodywear line. The steamy advertisements—which featured the chiseled designer shirtless and wearing his own creations—certainly made us want to buy...something. For round two, the Swedish retailer put extra thought into showcasing the soccer player's line on a rock hard body by literally showcasing the soccer player's line on an actual body made of rock.
This Thursday, August 16, the fast fashion chain plans to erect a 10 foot stature of Posh's husband wearing nothing but his skivvies in nine highly trafficked locations in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The monuments will stand from August 16 through 19 and visitors are encouraged to snap their picture with Beckham's likeness via Instagram and tag it #HMBeckham. Participants will be entered to receive an assortment of David-themed prizes, including a mini stature of their own.
If you can't make it to one of the sites this weekend (all listed below) don't despair. After the initial debut, Beckham's likenesses will circulate from August 20-31 through various H&M shops within the participating cities, giving more fans photo ops and the chance to get free stuff. And, even if you don't see a statue in person or win anything, you can still save some serious cash: Between August 16 and 19, H&M customers everywhere can receive 20 percent their entire purchase by including at lease one item from the underwear collection.
