Moda Operandi's Selling $74,500 Vintage Hermes Bags Today

I'm writing this during that mid-morning lull when I move Napster-download slow, making it even harder for me to process the aggressive actions people are taking, pre-lunch, on Moda Operandi.

Via the trunk show site's collaboration with Heritage Auctions, women have already snapped up a significant chunk of the just-in vintage Hermès bags as if they're Hungry Hungry Hippos' pearls. It's quite the commitment, since even by Moda standards, the prices are high—like, Range Rover high—topping off at $74,500 for a sapphire colored crocodile Kelly bag. (Though, of course, like all things Moda, customers only need pay half of that upfront—the rest is due when your item is delivered.)

While we'll only be ogling, those who are interested in buying one (or two) should get on that immediately. With an authority like Moda Operandi to guarantee they're in pristine condition, the fancier bags will disappear ridiculously fast, and the sale's lower-priced items—the $3,800 wallet, namely—might vanish soon as well. (We think it would make a nice entry point to the card-carrying Hermès bag club, since it's large enough to use as a sleek clutch, too.)
