Shop the Trend: Peplum Hems
Most of peplums I see celebrities wearing are of the waist-cinching variety, like Emma Stone's pink one from last December or Pippa Middleton's Wimbleton outfit. Next season, though, I predict that Hollywood will embrace the trend's latest iteration: a frilled and flouncy hemline. And I know for certain that it will make an appearance in my closet.
Like the middle-whittling ruffles that inspired the look, the addition of slightly flared fabric on an otherwise simple skirt or dress makes a strong statement. Minis suddenly seem more modern and adult, pencils less severe. With so many options, there's definitely a version (or several!) of the peplum hem skirt out there for you. I've found nine to get you started—click through to shop them all now.
