The Intern Diaries: Last Day Style Reflections
This summer has come and gone, and suddenly it's the end of my internship at Luckymag.com. I've laughed, I've cried, I've written, I've danced to Whitney Houston, and eaten entirely too much fast food at my desk. I've also learned so much—about beauty, shopping, what it takes to work in a successful office, and most importantly, a great deal about myself.
One thing that's developed is my personal style. Looking back on my very first post, I was shaky in my belief that I would feel comfortable or fit in at such a fashionable office. However, through the many amazing opportunities this internship has afforded me, I've been able to get a good idea of what the fashion world is really like, and have come to realize that feeling intimidated gets you nowhere. If anything, it pulls you two steps backwards. A good intern doesn't get stuck.
A great intern gets the work done the way it needs to be done, has a positive attitude, has fun, and possesses a sort of memorable dynamism. What makes YOU irreplaceable? Truly, it doesn't matter if you shop at Barneys or Buffalo Exchange. You'll fit in as long as you're willing to work hard AND be yourself.
Click through to see some looks I'd sport if I could do it all over again. (With an unlimited, un-intern-like budget.)
Pairing a casual tee with a printed skirt creates a fun contrast. These wedges are pretty wild, too.
My ideal outfit. (Except the nameplate necklace would say Andie—duh.)
Comfortable and so cool.
A bold dress and minimalist accessories is all you really need.
