Uniqlo's New Campaign Features Leandra Medine and Natalie Portman's Husband
Uniqlo's newest "People Campaign" doesn't star professional models, but its subjects don't quite fall in the same "regular folks" category that Lanvin's do. Instead of seeking just any civilians, the Japanese brand has tapped an eclectic mix of men and women with really interesting careers.
As an homage to the company's soon-to-open locations in San Francisco and New Jersey, those cast for the advertisements are an even mix of east and west coasters. From NYC, there's "Man Repeller" blogger Leandra Medine, dancer Benjamin Millepied (whom you might better know as Natalie Portman's husband), pro skater Zered Basset and Amanda Warner of MNDR. And hailing from the Golden State: quarterback Joe Montana, singer/songwriter Goapele, Brit Morin—founder of Hellobrit.com—and Mission Chinese Food chef Danny Bowien.
The group is dressed in the type of super-functional cool-kid basics that Uniqlo does best and that this crew probably wears daily. All the cozy plaids, puffy outerwear and sleek knits are perfect for on-the-go, I-work-for-myself type of jobs that require casual attire that still looks put together. Or, for the rest of us, weekend brunch.
