You Can Pre-Order Rag & Bone's New Pilot Bags

If I was given the same swan-shaped minaudière as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, I wouldn't know what to do with it either. While the idea of running around Manhattan with a sparkly bird purse the size of a grapefruit is an intriguing one, what ordinary occasion calls for such an accessory? Certainly nothing in my day-to-day life. As a Brooklyn commuter I need stylish—yet seemingly bottomless—handbags that are sturdy enough to withstand 7:30 AM crowds. That's why I'm so excited about Rag & Bone's new collection of carryalls—they're an on-the-go girl's dream.

The company's very first satchel style is called the Pilot. It's available in two sizes (large and small), several colors (black, mocha, walnut and striped) and is priced between $725 and $995. Each bag has several inner and outer pockets for stashing your cell phone/lipsticks/powerbars/pretty-much-anything and a long cross-body strap I find super-duper handy. Which was exactly the brand's intent.

"We wanted the Pilot to be a reflection on real life," the label's co-designer Marcus Wainwright said on a press release. "It was essential that it suited a modern lifestyle and, of course, feels great to carry."
