Lookbook Love: Jil Sander Navy Spring 2013

With its starched shirtdresses and sculpted skirts—more a standalone form than just a soft flounce—Jil Sander Navy's spring collection feels very '50s, vey Dior New Look. It's the stuff classic movie heroines packed in old world luggage trunks before running off to meet their lovers at the train station.

And yet the collection's also exactly what I want to be wearing right now. Buttoned-up collars, paisleys and platform sandals give spring Jil Sander Navy a bit of kitsch, so while it might be very mid-century feminine, it's not outdated. It's La Dolce Vita, yes—but digitally remastered.
