Moda Watch: Jason Wu Spring 2013
Maybe the only thing I don't love about Moda Operandi is when a much-anticipated purchase arrives a little too early to be wearable (i.e., the giant Thakoon anorak that landed on my doorstep damp from the sauna that was July). It's great to have my order the second it's ready—of course—but I still kind of want to open a box and put whatever's in it on my body, right that instant.
Today's Jason Wu sale on the trunk show site should eliminate that sort of delay, though. Those leather paneled tops, navy dresses and lace pants should be perfectly ready to wear whenever they arrive early next year, whether that's in eat-dinner-outside-April or in sleeping-bag-coat-necessary-January (as is the delivery range). Marrying a brooding palette and tough textures with feminine, breezy silhouettes, they truly are year-round pieces—and what's a better investment than that?
