NYFW Spring 2013: Las Doñas de Ralph Lauren

We look forward to the final day of NYFW with great anticipation. Mostly because it is the final day—this stuff is fun-yet-tiring—but also because of Ralph Lauren's runway show, which never ceases to delight.

While checking in, we were entertained by the lazy antics of bulldogs Henry and Edward, who live next to RL's venue and almost always make an appearance. Soon enough, it was time to leave the pups and take our seats. With references to "battle jackets" and volume in the show notes—and Spanish guitar music swelling up in the background—we could almost guess what was coming.

Models walked in fringe, embroidered jackets and Cordobes-style hats. Boleros thrown over trademark Ralph Lauren gowns floated down the runway. Despite the international inspiration, the collection remained very true to Mr. Lauren's style. But it wasn't just the clothes we were looking at. Olympian Ryan Lochte eyes were locked on model Karlie Kloss as she slinked down the runway.
