Rachel Zoe: 'Everything I Do in Life Is a Dream'
"I'm terrified!" Rachel Zoe shrieked minutes before her first-ever showing at the Lincoln Center tents. "I'm so nervous, it just makes it all more real. It's scary. Really, really scary."
Not that the stylist had anything to worry about. "Everything I've done in my career has helped me prepare for this," she said of her turn as a designer. For Spring 2013, the look was—shocker!—pure 70's. But this time, "it's more androgynous, more street style, more cool," she said. "A little bit less overt glamor. Although there's still some of that."
Beyond the runway collection—which designer friends Prabal Gurung and Brian Atwood came out to support—Zoe's empire continues to expand. Along with jewelry—"I can't stop wearing it!"—she's launching a chain of blow dry bars called DreamDry. (The first one will open in NYC later this year.) "It was a very organic thing for me to be a part of and to start up. I've always been hair obsessed. I've had long hair since I was like, five," she said. "I'm calling it DreamDry because, for me, everything I do in life is a dream."
