Bird's Jen Mankins Takes Us Shopping...in Paris!
As the owner of Brooklyn's Bird fashion boutiques, you'd think Jen Mankins would refrain from shopping on her days off. But alas, this is most definitely not the case. "I never stop! I love it!" says the former Steven Alan buyer. With three brick-and-mortar locations as well as a busy online store—stocking every piece from Rachel Comey, APC, Isabel Marant and Tsumori Chisato a girl could want—you'd imagine most of Mankins' personal purchases would be done within the confines of Bird. Not so—at least when she's in Paris for Fashion Week. "Some stores are just better here."
We followed Jen as she worked her way through her favorite shops in the Marais, Paris' buzziest neighborhood.
First stop? Tabio, a Japanese sock store with several Paris outposts.
