Outfits That Will Look Good on You AND Your Mom

In an era when celebrities are lauded for their eternally youthful glow and there are more anti-wrinkle lotions and potions on the market than one could ever possibly try, dressing age-appropriate can be a struggle. Young women are often tempted to slip into too-mature suits and sweater sets for the sake of their jobs, while looks meant for 50-somethings are perplexingly worn on the runway and in print campaigns by 18-year-old models. And on the opposite end, we all have a friend whose mom tends to dress like a teenager, ala Amy Poehler in Mean Girls, causing more than a few uncomfortable situations. It's all very confusing, to say the least.

That's why we tapped Jen Rade, the celebrity stylist responsible for making stars like Angelina Jolie and Katharine McPhee look their red carpet best, to map out five head-to-toe outfits suited to five different age brackets. As a certified wardrobe pro and spokeswoman for T.J.Maxx and Marshalls, she knows how to dress women of every shape and age while still being budget-conscious. Click through for Jen's advice, and to shop each of the looks.

Sponsored by Big Rich Texas. Tune in to the season premiere on Sunday, October 7, at 8/7c on Style.

"Staying with the classics doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun! A fitted tweed jacket with leather piping is the perfect way to upgrade your wardrobe. Pair it with oxblood pants, which are both flattering and on-trend. Plus, you can upgrade your traditional handbag as well—try a new pattern or fabric, like suede or patent leather. Pull on flat black leather boots and you're set for the entire day, whether you’re running errands or headed to a lunch with your friends."
