Toasting 111 Years of Bergdorf Goodman

As you've probably heard, Bergdorf Goodman turned 111 in 2012. We've been celebrating, remembering and shopping all year long, but last night was the pièce de résistance of the entire affair. The majority of the fashion world gathered at New York's landmark Plaza Hotel to toast the anniversary, mingle and—naturally—dance to an '80s cover band. In true BG fashion, we were instructed to "dress extraordinary." For me, that means a suit. For others, it means some of the finest, most theatrical clothing in town.

I should've known we were in for an evening of distinction when I saw four impossibly tall models in evening gowns texting in the lobby of the hotel. [Editor's note: Including Enikő, who is perfect.] After that, it seemed like a never-ending parade of fashion and shopping elite. There was the world-famous Chanel saleswoman from the 2nd floor, Michael Kors, Joseph Altuzarra, Oscar de la Renta, Iris Apfel, model-after-model, editor-after-editor and of course, all the familiar faces of Bergdorf Goodman. (Linda Fargo et al.)

I will tell you, there is very little in my past that can compare with last night's festivities. And it's no wonder, with a sea of friends and smiling faces, that Bergdorf Goodman has managed too look this good after 111 years. Click below to see for yourself.

The scene.
