The Broke Girl's (Gift) Guide

While working as assistants for Hollywood bigwigs, Erin Bunch and Michelle Vick did more than fetch Starbucks lattes and pick up dry cleaning. They figured out how to lead the high life without the requisite high-paying job. “We made a habit of going to the same swanky bars a lot, so that the bartenders would get to know us. Once you've befriended a bartender, bar tabs tend to go down,” explains Bunch, whose co-partner Vick would sell the iPods, gift certificates, and other freebies that were gifted to her by her boss.

In 2011, the duo funneled their ambitions and dollar-stretching know-how into an LA-centric website called Broke Girl’s Guide, dedicated to helping up-and-comer’s live large and spend small in all areas of their lives, from beauty and fashion to travel. The LA-centric site was such a hit, they decided to roll out a national edition, which recently debuted and includes a daily cheat sheet to the very best (and best-priced) fashion, beauty, entertainment, and flash sales across the US.

We asked the Hollywood-based twosome to share their favorite holiday gifts that manage to be both budget friendly (under $50!) and bigwig-worthy. (And get more tips at Brokegirlsguide.com!)
