NYFW Fall 2013: Day Seven Wrap-Up

"Two of my favorite print-focused labels, Honor and Clover Canyon, both presented today—and showed some of the best clothes I've seen all week. Hearts were the graphic focus at the former, where designer Giovanna Randall screened them onto beautiful pink brocade pieces and adorned capelets and shifts with heart-shaped jewels. At Clover Canyon, Rozae Nichols showed some of her best digital prints to date—these ones were inspired by imperial Russia. I especially loved the mirrored horse print pieces, for obvious reasons." - Elana Fishman, Digital Fashion News Editor

"Michael Kors had a great soundtrack this morning, composed entirely of Willie Moon songs. The first was that one everybody knows from the iPod commercial, and it jolted everybody awake. Definitely worth a listen on Spotify. Stay tuned for our roundup of music from the shows later this week for more." - John Jannuzzi, Digital Editor

"The fur bracelets at J. Mendel's show today win the award for most bizarrely aristocratic jewelry I've seen this week. They were sort of like those fuzzy handcuffs found in sex shops, only without the connecting chain and hot pink dye. Still, they were definitely over-the-top. I picture Lady Gaga wearing them should her concert tour take her to Northern Canada or Siberia anytime soon." - Natalie Matthews, Digital Fashion Writer

"The mini messy buns at Nanette Lepore really took me back—like waaaay back, to the late '90s/early aughts when Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and every other pop princess first made them popular. My friends and I, in middle school at the time, would attempt the complicated updo on each other by referencing issues of CosmoGirl and Delias catalogs. (Ah, the pre-YouTube days!) I'm not sure how I feel about this look coming back. Maybe I can get on board...so long as sparkly butterfly clips aren't involved!" - Alison Syrett Cleary, Digital Writer
