NYFW Fall 2013: Day One Wrap-Up

With New York Fashion Week's official (and unofficial—Rachel Comey, Creatures of Comfort and Lauren Moffatt all showed yesterday, after all) first day behind us, we have so much to discuss! Here's what our team's been seeing and doing and talking about in between fashion happenings:

"Last night's Prabal for Target party was the perfect start to the week, sort of like a high school reunion of sorts. The impending blizzard is going to make for an interesting week. Not sure how the street style circus will respond to a healthy dump of snow." - John Jannuzzi, Digital Editor

"Rashida Jones hosted the Dannijo presentation, looking gorgeous in a sparkly choker from the collection. Here's hoping she makes a cameo in the girls' next lookbook and/or campaign video!" - Elana Fishman, Digital Fashion News Editor

"There was definitely a bit of nip-slippage happening on one of the models at the Kimberly Ovitz show; her V-neck dress was J.Lo's-green-Versace low and made of billowy fabric. Hey, that's the beauty of Fashion Week, though! In real life, it would be a major disaster, but on the runway, it seemed like...European and cool." - Alison Syrett, Digital Writer

"BCBG made me rethink my beanie game. These perfectly slouchy grey ones topped off every single look—crepey dresses, leather jackets, whatever—and it looked good with absolutely everything. And Costello made me rethink my current go-to song. They played this one track towards the end of the show and for the finale that made everyone around me shimmy in their seats. It's "The Mother We Share" by Chvrches and it's so good. Go download it." - Natalie Matthews, Digital Fashion Writer
