This Week I Want to Look Like: David Bowie
David Bowie is the man.
He’s also been a lot of different men. As the recently launched "David Bowie is" exhibit at London’s Victoria and Albert museum proves, Bowie is the ultimate chameleon. He was Ziggy Stardust in slinky, glittering bodysuits and face paint; he sampled alluring androgyny in his '70s trenches and trousers; he made dreamy austerity a thing with his slick black-and-white getups and equally slick hair during his Station to Station period; he had his military phase in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, went straight minimalist in the '90s—and, I mean, remember Labyrinth?!
I love it all. But I love him most in his slim, drapey '70s suits—hat cocked, limbs extra-gangly, cheekbones exposed in all their glory. I can almost hear "Rebel, Rebel" in the background. It doesn’t get any better.
Get the look below—and listen to a little Bowie here.
