It's Really Happening: Isabel Marant Is Collaborating With H&M!!!

Talk about tremendously tremendous great news: Isabel Marant, the reining queen of all things effortless and French-girl cool, is collaborating with H&M on a lower-priced collection! Despite all my team's talk of dream collabs (like here, here and here…yes, we have lots of dreams), this is totally not a partnership I saw coming, and it's probably the most excited I've been about a luxury-label-meets-fast-fashion team-up in while. I mean, you guys, it's Isabel Marant, the genius behind most every major style trend in the past 10 years (red jeans, embroidered denim and wedge sneakers, anyone?), creating an affordable capsule line. Like I said: tremendous!

According to the press notice sent around this morning, the limited-edition line will hit stores and online November 14 and include clothing and accessories for women and teenagers, along with Marant's first-ever menswear range (I predict most girls will use the boyfriend/husband/brother/dad excuse to shop it for themselves—well, that's what I'll be doing). But the most exciting part of the release is assurance from Ms. Marant herself that the range won't stray far from the signature look of her two main brands, Isabel Marant and Etoile, so we don't have to worry about any one-off experimental novelty pieces: "I aim at creating something real—something women want to wear in their everyday lives—with a certain carefree style. I think this is very Parisian: You dress up, but don’t pay too much attention to it, and you still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude."

Although there aren't any product photos to drool over yet, H&M has sent around a cute video of Isabel Marant talking about the project, interspersed with pretty shots of Paris. Check it out below. (And stay tuned for updates—we'll post stuff the minute we hear about it!)
