The latest gossip swirling around the beauty industry is that Adele just rejected a £12 million offer (equatable to $19 million) from L'Oréal to replace British songstress Cheryl Cole as the brand's new face. As for why, well, your guess is as good as ours.

"L'Oréal was in negotiations for the deal with Adele and it looked to be happening—but she just changed her mind on it," an all-knowing insider told Perez Hilton. "L'Oréal is gobsmacked that she turned down such a huge amount."

The acclaimed singer-songwriter is constantly applauded for her picture-perfect, Old Hollywood beauty choices (i.e. that signature red lip), so we're a bit floored that she hasn't frontlined a major beauty campaign yet. But with a recent mega-offer like L'Oréal's having been pushed aside, it's clear Adele must be choosing to focus on her music, and her music alone. And speaking of which, the 25-year-old is hard at work on a yet unnamed third album, which we await very, very eagerly.
