Accessories You Can Buy Right Off the Runway

I love fashion shows. More often than not, the good ones make you long for the clothes being shown. Even though one can get tired of winter exercises like trudging through the snow and losing all sensation in your fingers as you try to find your keys, some of the fall/winter 2010 collections made me wish our cold season would linger a little longer.

Postcard From Milan: Prada

Unlikemany of Prada's past shows, you didn't need a private tutorial todecode the concept of the collection. From the first few looks it wasclear that Miuccia Prada was borrowing from some of her own most iconicideas and giving them a slightly ironic and definitively modern spin.

Fashion Week Scorecard: Burberry Prorsum

The Show: Burberry Prorsum

The Venue: In London, at the actual show, it was The Chelsea College of Art and Design, which is right around the corner fromthe label's headquarters. It was pouring raining the day of the show, and I wasprovided with a very fetching umbrella man who walked me up to the tent(thank you, Burberry). In New York, L.A., and other keycities around the globe, editors viewed 3-D live streams of the show--and yes, they got to watch itwearing cool glasses.

The Celebs: Kate Hudson, Kristen Stewart, Mia Wasikowska(from Alice in Wonderland), Claire Danes, Mary-Kate Olsen, fellowdesigner Carolina Herrera

4 Questions For: Pringle's Claire Waight Keller

In this new video series, some of our favorite designers spill on their inspirations and Fashion Week survival tips.

Props to Pringle for having the most celebrity-stocked front row of thefall collections so far--there was Janet Jackson, Courtney Love(sporting specks of glitter dust in her hair--such an unexpectedly prettyidea I'm trying it out the next party I go to), Ryan McGinley, and TildaSwinton. But it was honestly the clothes that took center stage.

Allthings Scottish were the theme this season for creative director ClaireWaight Keller: fisherman's wader pants (one of Claire's favoritepieces) with exaggerated cuffs, Aran knits turned up in felted cablecashmere blanket sweaters and dresses, and kilt skirts werereinterpreted in a variety of ways. All in hues of moss, clay, andyellow against grey and black. While usually in the grand scheme ofthings, menswear trends follow one season behind womenswear trends, here at Pringle it's been flipped--the women's collection takes itscues from the menswear that showed in January--and it totally works.
