Best Dressed at the CMT Music Awards: Sheryl Crow, Kristin Chenoweth and Nicole Kidman

While the CMT (that would be Country Music Television) Music Awards may not be everyone's red-carpet cup of tea, the genre is displaying an ever-increasing influence in mainstream pop culture, and in turn, that means...more stylish A-list stars in attendance! (Which is definitely our cup of tea.) Despite a healthy dose of cowboy hats amongst the male nominees, country's leading ladies stepped up to plate this year in sleek and glamorous gowns. Click through for our three favorites.

Best Dressed at the CFDA Awards

The CFDA Awards are a chance for the fashion industry to honor its finest--last night the institution bestowed Marc Jacobs with a Lifetime Achievement award and design darlings Proenza Schouler took home the prize for Womenswear Designer of the Year. But what we really want to celebrate is the attendees' wardrobe choices for the evening. This annual event defines quintessential New York fashion--stylists, editors and celebrities who love them all dress to the nines for a night out with peers. Check out our favorite looks below:

Best Use of Color: Model Chanel Iman stunned in a turquoise loose-fitting caftan by BCBG.

Tilda Swinton Conquers both the Screen and Red Carpet at Cannes

Tilda Swinton, actress and style maven, is a front-runner for top honors at this year's Cannes Film Festival for her role in We Need to Talk About Kevin. While we love nothing better than a thought-provoking film, what we're really excited about was her red-carpet look--a jewel-toned draped gown with a halter top by Belgian designer Haider Ackermann (who is a possible replacement for John Galliano at Dior, btw).

Her clutch was Olympia Le-Tan, and--get this--looked just like the cover of the children's book Ant and Bee . Swinton, known for eschewing typical princess fare for fashion-forward avant-garde designers like Viktor and Rolf and Ann Demeulemeester, blew our minds earlier this year when she showed up on the Golden Globes red carpet in a spring look from the critically acclaimed (and seriously drool-worthy) spring collection from Raf Simons for Jil Sander. We salute you, Tilda!

After the Oscars: Best Dressed at Vanity Fair

So much attention is paid to the stars who walk the red carpet at the Academy Awards that the after-parties become, well, an after-thought.As I was cruising around the Web I came across photos from the infamous Vanity Fair Oscars party held at the Sunset Tower. After seeing many, many photos of Natalie, Cate, Mila, et al., I was thrilled to see what other celebs were wearing on this big night. The after-party is where celebs who weren't invited to the ceremony converge, and probably the only time that one will overhear, "Hi, I'm Mick, nice to meet you!"

Gabrielle Union stunned in a deep purple off-the-shoulder gown by Diane von Furstenberg and Rosario Dawson continued the blue trend that we had seen earlier in the evening also in a dress by DVF. Many starlets took this chance to go casual in a short, but-still-so-fancy, dress. Taylor Swift glittered in a gold shift by Zuhair Murad and Emma Stone caused jaws to drop in her paillette and embroidered lace Chanel Couture dress.
