Did Anne Hathaway's Diamond Lashes Steal the Show at the Oscars?

It did in the Twitterverse! People went NUTS when she stepped on stage with her second look:A cream, bejeweled Givenchy gown with full-on, false lashes to match. Chanel makeup artist Kate Lee lined eyes with Bobbi Brown Long Wearing Gel Liner in Black Ink and applied custom, diamond lash-clusters topped with Swarovski black diamante to give extra sparkle to Anne's eyes. Total glamour!

Oscars 2011 Beauty Superlatives

It's not just the dresses that make the starlet--a lot of thought (should) go into their hair and makeup choices. Here, our favorite hair and makeup combos of the night (excluding the all-around fabulous Anne Hathaway, because she had the unfair advantage of a crazy number of hair, makeup, and costume changes):

Get the Look For Less: Oscar Trends

Last night's Academy Awards were a hotbed of style. We saw fashion favorites Cate Blanchett and Mila Kunis take bold sartorial steps, and we applaud them for their bravery! Red dominated the carpet both in dresses (Sandra Bullock's Vera Wang) and shoes (Nicole Kidman's Pierre Hardy peep-toe pumps peeked out from under her stunning Dior Couture gown). And who could forget Natalie Portman's stunning eggplant dress? Jewelry made a statement in the form of large diamond choker necklaces and lots of emerald shaped earrings and rings. Last, but certainly not least, were the shoes, which merely peeked out from under layers of tulle, but it is a miracle that none of the actresses fell due to the nose bleed-worthy height of those heels.

We scoured the web this morning to bring you the trends for less:

Anne Hathaway Hosted the Oscars in Style

Anne Hathaway hosted last night's Academy Awards, and she did it in style. She started off the evening in a crimson Valentino Haute Couture gown that had been pulled from the archives.

The only accessory that could top that gown? Mr. Valentino himself, in all his tanned splendor. Anne continued to stun as the night went on, but my personal fave was the Lanvin tuxedo look. The cropped pant, the sparkly shoe (courtesy of Brian Atwood, naturally) and the bouncy ponytail were the perfect antidote to the saccharine-sweet looks that we had seen all night long. Rachel Zoe, Ms. Hathaway's gal pal and stylist, truly outdid herself last night.

Oscars Scorecard: Amy Adams

The Designer: L'Wren Scott

The Vibe: Very sparkly! She wore a long, fitted cap-sleeve number done entirely in royal blue sequins.

The Accessories:
A whole lot of Cartier diamonds! She wore a Cartier platinum and diamond watch bracelet and a Cartier platinum and diamond necklace, with a monstrosity of an emerald.

What We Love: The sequins, the bright blue color, crazy over-the-top jewelry--she didn't hold back at all, and she pulled it off with confidence. Plus, could the dress have been any more flattering on her? It fit like a glove ...

Oscars Scorecard: Annette Bening

The Dress:The intricately beaded, floor-length gunmetal Naeem Khan gown showed off her silhouette perfectly.

The Accessories: Ferragamo shoes and emerald cabochon teardrop earrings designed by Angelina Jolie in collaboration with former Asprey CEO Robert Procop.

What We Love:
The color and shape of her dress were subtle yet elegant. I missed her quirky hairdo and glasses, but the earrings quickly became the focal point, and what a focal point at that.

Oscars Scorecard: Natalie Portman

The Dress: A flowing Rodarte silk chiffon gown in deep plum with a portrait collar.

The Jewels: Tiffany & Co. tassel earrings and Jimmy Choo sandals.

What We Love:
The color was stunning, and it's safe to say that the Rodarte girls know how to best dress that burgeoning bump. The Tiffany & Co tassel earrings were right on the mark and complemented her side-swept hair perfectly.

Oscars Scorecard: Michelle Williams

Designer: Chanel

Vibe: This pearl-covered column dress is a nod to classic femininity and elegance. Michelle's platinum blonde pixie cut adds a modern contrast, pulling the whole look together.

Accessories:
When you're wearing pearls from head to toe, the accessories should be minimal. Michelle was right on target, keeping it simple with diamond stud earrings.

What We Love: Michelle's style is always consistent: Less is more. As for her Oscar look, is there truly any combination better than pearls and Chanel?

Oscars Scorecard: Mila Kunis

Designer: Elie Saab

The Dress: Ethereal, with floor-length layers of lavender and lace and a glamorously plunging neckline. According to AP Live, it was the first dress she tried on months ago! We love a well-executed fashion plan.

The Accessories
: Neil Lane diamond earrings.

What We Love: Glamorous and beautiful, but it's still youthful. She hit all the right notes of a silver screen star. She gets our vote!

Oscars Scorecard: Jennifer Lawrence

The Designer: Calvin Klein

The Vibe: Sexy minimalist meetsBaywatch .

The Accessories:
Traditional glitz. Chopard jewels and a Judith Leiber clutch.

What We Love: While the newcomer played it safe, the loose beachy waves and no-nonsense, slinky tomato-red tank dress combo proved to be a classic. A red carpet starlet in the making.
