Top Hats
I just noticed that
Bop Basics, shopbop.com's
house label, has expanded into the hat market, with a range of breezy straw hats in classic silhouettes. For the beach, I can't think of a better way to shade your face than
this wide-brimmed sun hat with a braided leather band. It has a '70s supermodel feel—I like the idea of going with that theme and adding
a skimpy bandeau halter bikini. My other favorite from the lineup is
this open-weave fedora, which looks like it would keep you sufficiently cool (excessive head/hair sweat is such an unfortunate side effect of summertime hat wearing!) and comes with a navy grosgrain ribbon. I also like the fact that this looks effortlessly packable, like you could smush it at the bottom of your weekend duffel and it'd still look great.
