My birthday is this week and I'm pondering what, fashion-wise, it means to get older. Like, once you hit your 30's, are things like patent leather Mary Janes and trapeze dresses just infantilizing? Or even worse, if I don't retire my miniskirts soon am I going to look like a cougar?? I've never liked the idea of sticking to rules when it comes to getting dressed, but there's definitely something to be said about aging gracefully, a la Lauren Hutton, who at 65 is still one of the most gorgeous and flawlessly put together women out there. What do you guys think?
