While I make no secret for my affinity for the boy's department, I don't usually shop the women's juniors section. But I think I might make an exception for these acid-washed v-neck t-shirts that are part of the collaboration between Miley Cyrus and Max Azria. They're totally spot-on and are only $8, which is way cheaper than a similar style that I love from American Apparel ($26).
It may be the hottest, sweatiest, and nastiest day of summer in New York yet, but it's not stopping me from thinking about all the things I want for fall. And one such thing is a fur vest. Maybe I'm still fixated on all the cute French girls wearing them on the streets when I was there in November, working on the Paris shopping trip (to watch a hilarious—and random!—behind the scenes video that the photographer, David Land assembled, click here. We filmed it entirely on our HD Flip cameras.). Anyway, not only were the girls-in-vests so chic, but it was freezing, and I desperately wanted an extra layer. I'm jumping on the bandwagon this year, and I think it will be by way of this B.B. Dakota option at Fred Flare. In fact, I may head out to Greenpoint to their newish boutique to try it on in person. Fake fur, $60, and pretty adorable—it definitely seems like the sort of thing that will be blasting out of stores, so I'm inclined to pull the trigger now.
So for some reason, completely unbeknownst to me, a friend is letting me borrow her brand-new Audi Q5 SUV this weekend (I only know exactly what it is because I love their Identity Theft ad series, complete with cute kids in Converse). Living in New York City, I rarely find myself behind the wheel, much less behind a fancy wheel, and so I'm a little bit flummoxed by the fact that she's so trusting. Also, I'm taking said car to the Elephant Trunk Flea Market (an amazing cache of awesome steals, every Sunday, in a field in New Milford, CT), so I plan on filling its trunk with all sorts of random scuff-creating treasure—last time I was there, I bought a gigantic Marie Antoinette-style painting, some African trading beads, 15 silk scarves, and a chair.

So I was scrolling through my twitter feed (if you have an account, you can follow us @luckymagazine for constant sale updates, or me at @eloehnen), and saw that Rumi Neely, the blogger I featured in my September Web Pages section (p. 98)—she writes FashionToast, which is an awesome daily read—is fielding lots of queries about the shoes she's wearing in the photo (@rumineely). This is funny, because I was wondering the same thing. They're the Alamin sandal, they're by Aldo, and they're $100! Meanwhile, Rumi, who first got her start selling vintage pieces on eBay, has a sale site that's a companion to FashionToast, right here, where she sells off the pieces that she wears on her blog.
So if you can imagine, Urban Outfitters is adding yet another one of our favorite small designers to their collaboration roster. Eugenia Kim, of hat fame, has created a handful of styles for the site under the name EEK! by Eugenia Kim, including this super-cute Fedora style, which retails for $48. A few other options are up now, with more to come. And in case you missed it, Lyell and Sunshine & Shadow are also doing lines (Fletcher, and Yellow is Gold respectively), on sale now.
And so I will, because I really can't get enough of Norma Kamali's capsule collection for the mega-tailer. It's literally all under $20. Sure, it's not cut from the choicest of materials, but the pieces are really great, universally flattering, and total wardrobe work-horses. Take this really, really pretty cap-sleeve wrap dress in a flattering black jersey. It's $20! I'm totally obsessed. The convenient thing about the Walmart site is that it delineates whether the items are available in stores, and if they are, which ones. Nice!
Every day the sale section at Anthropologie gets deeper and
deeper (read: better and better). Case in point, this Anna Sui-designed tunic just dropped another $50, making it 75 percent off (now, $49.95, was $198). I'm also a little bit in love with this Zachary Smile dress ($119.95), and this less exotic, but extremely practical short-sleeve blazer with a tie at the waist ($59.95). The online sale is great, but it's always worth stopping by an actual store-there's always loads there that has sold-out online.
If you don't think that this season's pencil mini is for you, then what
about this full-skirt ($85) by Cheap Monday at Need Supply, one of my favorite sites, ever (also part of our Top 100 sites for pieces under $100 list). I love the exposed zipper on the side, and the slightly off-kilter cut—plus, it sits high on the waist, which is the best way to carve out a really flattering silhouette when you're working with a lot of fabric. I'm kind of obsessed. What do you guys think?
So as mentioned, Rachel Roy, who does truly exquisite dresses and gorgeously tailored blouses and pants, is doing a really well-priced capsule collection for Macy's called Rachel Rachel Roy. A handful of pieces are already in Macy's—like this pretty awesome black dress ($109), which has lots of interesting details around the neck—with tons more slated to arrive later this month.
