I just read in Us Weekly, or maybe it was Star, that Katie Holmes wears Tom's jeans—and they had the picture to prove it. There's a bit of a mini-controversy raging on sites like gofugyourself.com as to whether she looks stylish or flat-out ridiculous, and the latter MIGHT be true, but there's definitely something to be said for this particular cut of denim. One of the fashion assistants in the office wears similar-looking beat-up 501s, and I think the combination of those two sightings has been preying on my mind because I had a dream the other night that I owned—and then lost—the perfect pair (sick, right?). I tracked down said fashion assistant, Rachel Siegel, expecting that she'd stolen hers from her boyfriend's closet, but in fact, they're new, and she bought them online. Her trick? She opted for the darker, slightly whiskered wash, and got them two sizes bigger than she usually wears.
