Miley Cyrus + Max Azria at Walmart=Perfect T-shirt

0064922574173_215X215.jpgWhile I make no secret for my affinity for the boy's department, I don't usually shop the women's juniors section. But I think I might make an exception for these acid-washed v-neck t-shirts that are part of the collaboration between Miley Cyrus and Max Azria. They're totally spot-on and are only $8, which is way cheaper than a similar style that I love from American Apparel ($26).

Fall essential, sure to sell out.

image.jpgIt may be the hottest, sweatiest, and nastiest day of summer in New York yet, but it's not stopping me from thinking about all the things I want for fall. And one such thing is a fur vest. Maybe I'm still fixated on all the cute French girls wearing them on the streets when I was there in November, working on the Paris shopping trip (to watch a hilarious—and random!—behind the scenes video that the photographer, David Land assembled, click here. We filmed it entirely on our HD Flip cameras.). Anyway, not only were the girls-in-vests so chic, but it was freezing, and I desperately wanted an extra layer. I'm jumping on the bandwagon this year, and I think it will be by way of this B.B. Dakota option at Fred Flare. In fact, I may head out to Greenpoint to their newish boutique to try it on in person. Fake fur, $60, and pretty adorable—it definitely seems like the sort of thing that will be blasting out of stores, so I'm inclined to pull the trigger now.

Rumi's shoes: Sourced!

Picture 64.jpgSo I was scrolling through my twitter feed (if you have an account, you can follow us @luckymagazine for constant sale updates, or me at @eloehnen), and saw that Rumi Neely, the blogger I featured in my September Web Pages section (p. 98)—she writes FashionToast, which is an awesome daily read—is fielding lots of queries about the shoes she's wearing in the photo (@rumineely). This is funny, because I was wondering the same thing. They're the Alamin sandal, they're by Aldo, and they're $100! Meanwhile, Rumi, who first got her start selling vintage pieces on eBay, has a sale site that's a companion to FashionToast, right here, where she sells off the pieces that she wears on her blog.

Collaboration alert! Lyell for Urban Outfitters

16860033_068_b.jpgEmma Fletcher, the designer behind the much-loved, deeply feminine label Lyell (you can read about her New York flagship here), has created a capsule collection for Urban Outfitters. Aptly enough, it's called Fletcher (Lyell is called after her mother's maiden name), and it has all the pretty details that we adore about her original line (pintucking, lace, pretty buttons and finishes)—at insanely good prices. The full line hits the stores and websites this Saturday, August 15th, but there are four items on sale already. I'm really digging this vivid red silk dress ($88)—so pretty for summer. Snap them up now before they sell out! (Meanwhile, if you haven't checked it out yet, don't miss Sunshine & Shadows collaboration with the mega-chain. It's called Yellow is Gold, and I'm obsessed!)

Mega sale on I 'Heart' Ronson

Picture 32.jpegCharlotte Ronson's adorable capsule collection for JCPenney, 'IPicture 33.jpeg Heart Ronson,' is somehow, miraculously, on clearance—which means that the already great prices are even better. I'm snapping up this ikat print top (marked down to $14.99!)—I love how quiet and subdued it is, despite the relatively bright color palette. I would wear it like the model (unbuttoned, wrapped, and tucked in), or even tied over a dress. And this nearly pegged-leg pair of jeans (also $14.99!) are so crisp, which is exactly what I want now that it's legitimately hot and muggy. As a bonus, the mega retailer finally opened a Manhattan outpost, which is only eight blocks from the office, down in Herald Square. Now I can go and shop the label over lunch!

The Perfect Party Top For $24.80

64367269-02.jpgTo my mind, a shirt that is both subtly sexy and comfortable is somewhat of a boon when it's time to get dressed to go out at night. Like most people, I want to be able to eat whatever I want at dinner with impunity and not have to worry about sucking my stomach in! Normally, anything empire-waisted with some good draping qualifies, though if one isn't in the mood to show a lot of cleavage, I think this Forever 21 tank is an even better pick. All the tiered drapes make it look pretty dressy—so all it requires is some cigarette-leg jeans, heels, and one piece of statement jewelry. Also, it's cut long, which makes for a body-lengthening silhouette—always a good thing.

I must have this bag, now.

P25120-2400_3.jpgP42459-6861_3.jpgI've been vaguely on the search for a canvas, satchel-type bag for years now. But they're always way over-priced (like in the multiple hundreds of dollars), which just doesn't make sense considering that they're not even leather. I think the search is over, though, because my heart is set on this version by Ally Capellino—it's priced in pounds (35.23 to be extremely precise), and will need to be shipped to me care of the Tate Modern in London, but I still think it's worth it. It looks elegant, durable, and fuss-free. And since I'm already splurging on shipping, I think I might add this gradient tote by graphic designer Cristian Zuzunaga, too. It would definitely make shopping for groceries more fun. And while I'm at it, I love these rainbow plates and lace-patterned mugs.

Perfect summer dress=under $75

6384-1.jpgThere's pretty much nothing that I don't love about this dress on Modcloth: The pattern is exotic without being overbearing; the bottom is flouncy and tiered without creating too much volume; it's ruffled around the chest but low-cut enough not to make it top-heavy; and it begs for a wide, vintage belt. I'm also into the cross-cut back, though make sure to wear sunscreen, otherwise you're asking for some wonky tan lines! For even more under $100 dresses, click here.

Are flip flops in the city in the summer a no-no—or not?

TIRCH2_7185.jpgI love flip-flops as much, if not more, than the average person (I have 18 pairs, at last count), but I still feel like a dirty person when I wear them around the city (unless I'm going to get a pedicure, for which they are definitely required). I mean, New York City streets are filthy, and there's nothing more unsavory than that line of dirty sweat that forms along the edge of the rubber. Even though I always, always wash my feet before bed every night (my one OCD habit) it's not enough to counter-act what I've just put my toes through. But, I have my Working Girl tendencies, too, and nothing beats something that you can slip on and off as readily as Havianas. This is why I'm always on the hunt for simple, lightweight, easy-to-stow shoes that I can swap for heels when I get to work—and these espadrilles from Talbots, which just got reduced by 40%, definitely fit the bill (DISCLAIMER: these are a Lucky-wide obsession, as documented in this month's Style Spy). I think I might spring for them in Navy. Better for braving the subway than flip-flops, right?

New obsession: Manu by Lauren Manoogian

J1036-2.jpgI first saw one of these necklaces at Maryam Nassir Zadeh—J1036-1-t.jpgarguably one of the best boutiques on New York's LES—and I was instantly smitten, and then thrilled to find them online here at Creatures of Comfort. Manoogian crafts her pieces from paperclips and vinyl tape and while they're officially necklaces, I almost want to splurge on one to hang on my wall. They're really cool and unusual—and much different than anything I've seen in a long time. What say you all?
