Sale on at Anthropologie

933045_grm_b.jpgEvery day the sale section at Anthropologie gets deeper and933121_038_b.jpg deeper (read: better and better). Case in point, this Anna Sui-designed tunic just dropped another $50, making it 75 percent off (now, $49.95, was $198). I'm also a little bit in love with this Zachary Smile dress ($119.95), and this less exotic, but extremely practical short-sleeve blazer with a tie at the waist ($59.95). The online sale is great, but it's always worth stopping by an actual store-there's always loads there that has sold-out online.

Mega sale on I 'Heart' Ronson

Picture 32.jpegCharlotte Ronson's adorable capsule collection for JCPenney, 'IPicture 33.jpeg Heart Ronson,' is somehow, miraculously, on clearance—which means that the already great prices are even better. I'm snapping up this ikat print top (marked down to $14.99!)—I love how quiet and subdued it is, despite the relatively bright color palette. I would wear it like the model (unbuttoned, wrapped, and tucked in), or even tied over a dress. And this nearly pegged-leg pair of jeans (also $14.99!) are so crisp, which is exactly what I want now that it's legitimately hot and muggy. As a bonus, the mega retailer finally opened a Manhattan outpost, which is only eight blocks from the office, down in Herald Square. Now I can go and shop the label over lunch!

Where do you inadvertently splurge?

18562.jpgFor me, it's H&M (I always stop by for some layering t-shirts and StockholmPaperDrawersAll_l.jpgwalk out with multiple bags of things that don't fit in my already-packed closet). And also, maybe surprisingly, The Container Store. I cannot wind my way through its maze of aisles without buying at least four storage solutions—not only am I convinced that by maximizing my closets I can add hundreds of square feet to my apartment, but I just love canvas bins, and paper drawers with all my heart. Organizing to me, is what packing is to Shop Girl, Emily Hsieh. Fortunately, The Container Store is having a huge sale, which extends to the brilliantly space-saving, Lucky-favorite, huggable hangers.

Are flip flops in the city in the summer a no-no—or not?

TIRCH2_7185.jpgI love flip-flops as much, if not more, than the average person (I have 18 pairs, at last count), but I still feel like a dirty person when I wear them around the city (unless I'm going to get a pedicure, for which they are definitely required). I mean, New York City streets are filthy, and there's nothing more unsavory than that line of dirty sweat that forms along the edge of the rubber. Even though I always, always wash my feet before bed every night (my one OCD habit) it's not enough to counter-act what I've just put my toes through. But, I have my Working Girl tendencies, too, and nothing beats something that you can slip on and off as readily as Havianas. This is why I'm always on the hunt for simple, lightweight, easy-to-stow shoes that I can swap for heels when I get to work—and these espadrilles from Talbots, which just got reduced by 40%, definitely fit the bill (DISCLAIMER: these are a Lucky-wide obsession, as documented in this month's Style Spy). I think I might spring for them in Navy. Better for braving the subway than flip-flops, right?

Another sample sale destination to bookmark now: Gomatta Girls

0emilyluggagemain.jpgSo I just learned about this website, Gomatta Girls, which hosts one-day sales on single designers. Today, they're offering 80%20 shoes at about 66% off (previous sales have included Whitley Kros and Jenny Han). I'm digging these wedge huaraches ($45!).

Sale on at Totokaelo: 50% off

DSC_0039_large.JPGThe much-revered Seattle boutique and website Totokaelo (big sister to Lucky favorite Impulse) is offering tons and tons of stuff—from Golden Goose riding boots to Vanessa Bruno parkas—at half off. I've had a crush on Mary Ping's ballet flats for awhile, so I might spring for these ($50!).

Sale on at The Violet Hour

TVH00096.jpgSan Antonio based boutique The Violet Hour is unloading tons of items at up to 75% off. I would totally snap up these red Les Prairies de Paris heels (now $125, were $365) if they were in my size, and this well-cut tulip-shaped skirt by Yaya Aflalo (now $55, was $220) looks like a great wardrobe staple.

Sale ALSO on at Otte

bc35d8d8c712f7cef6fa8ca40c27ad7f.image.119x180.jpgOtte is one of those great New York City boutiques where you're always bound to find something you have to have, whether it's a cocktail dress or the perfect trench. Everything at their three outposts is also available online—and a lot of it is dramatically reduced (12 pages worth!) like simple Tucker camisoles and Wendy Nichol rings.

Sale on at Creatures of Comfort

90726-t.jpgAlways ahead of the curve boutique Creatures of Comfort is blowing out almost all of their spring merchandise—at up to $50 percent off. It's kind of zany, but I'm loving this pink terry-cloth, gingham top. There's loads from A D??tacher, Rachel Comey, and Zero + Maria Cornejo, too.

$40 jeans for the season

Picture 9.jpegThere seem to be two types of denim obsessives. Those who are into one shape and one wash—whether it's a bootcut or a skinny leg—that they buy compulsively, and those who just can't commit and switch it up constantly. My thing seems to be straight-leg, black denim, though I've been experimenting with the boyfriend jean of late (I ultimately splurged on the Red Engine ones, which are as soft as pajamas). And now I'm considering dabbling in this light-wash, flared pair for summer. A significant departure. I'm currently at a photo shoot with Fashion News Director Jen Ford, who is arguing that to make this particular pair from the Gap work, they need to skim the ground. And I think she's right—no shoe exposure at all. Luckily, Gap sells tall sizes online. What's your denim style crutch? (P.S. if this style is not to your taste, there are tons of other cuts on sale, too.)
